Join us Saturday for the release of our next small batch beer and celebrate Las Posadas. Every now and then, we brew a small 1/2 barrel batch on our pilot system for release in the taproom. This time we brewed a Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout named Las Posadas.
We started with a smooth oatmeal stout base with additions of chocolate, vanilla, coffee, and peppers to create a sweet and subtly spicy beer with solid roast character from the dark grains and coffee from Black & White Roasters. The goal is for none of the flavors to overwhelm the beer, so it isn’t overly chocolate, coffee, or pepper dominant. 6.1% ABV
While you’re here, pair your Las Posadas with a slice of Mexican Chocolate Chess Pie from our friends Sweet Arielle Bakery at the SoDu Farmer’s Market. Get the pairing for $10 or a slice for $5.50. The pie slices will be prepackaged by the bakery for your enjoyment here (or to go) starting at Noon while it lasts.
Then from 3-7pm, El Jefecito Taco Truck will be parked out back serving their amazing menu of tacos and other Mexican dishes.
And our final live music date for the year will also be happening with Durham’s The Simple Joy playing in the beer garden from 3-6pm.
