Listen to the best blues musicians around while enjoying unlimited samples from the best IPAs and other hop-forward beer makers we can find.
The Glass Jug Beer Lab has once again partnered with Music Maker Relief Foundation to bring in some of the most talented NC blues musicians to rock the beer garden, and 15 of the best hop-centric breweries are going to be serving unlimited samples of their best hoppy beers for this exclusive event.
MUSIC (Sponsored, in part, by HunkyDory Durham):
The fine folks at Music Maker Relief Foundation have hooked us up with two great performances for Hops & Blues this year. Tad Walters will be getting things started off, then we’ll have two sets from the Thomas Rhyant Jr. trio to really get the party rocking!
The following breweries will be pouring at the event.
The Glass Jug Beer Lab – Brewery
Triple Crossing Beer
Aslin Beer Company
Commonwealth Brewing Company
Resident Culture Brewing Company
New Anthem Beer Project
Burial Beer Co.
Benchtop Brewing Company
Barrel Culture Brewing and Blending
HopFly Brewing Company
Wilmington Brewing Company
Divine Barrel Brewing
Incendiary Brewing Company
Cockadoodlemoo Truck will again be slinging their delicious BBQ to help soak up all those hoppy beers. Note that the ticket price does not include food, but food can be purchased individually from the truck.
This event is limited to only 300 attendees. We want to welcome as many people as possible, but don’t want you to feel crowded, as this should be a fun, relaxed event. $40 general admission ticket gets you into the show and a sample cup that can be used for unlimited samples from the various breweries on site.
We are also offering a $15 ticket for people under 21, designated drivers, or those who are just listening to the music. These tickets do not include any alcohol. No alcohol can be consumed at The Glass Jug with this ticket.
Buy your tickets on Eventbrite here:
– This event is outdoors. It is in August. It will likely be hot. Be prepared for the elements. This is NC. We’ll have water and some shade, but please bring hats, sunscreen, etc.
– Please feel free to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets to set up in the beer garden to listen to the music.
– This event is for hoppy beer lovers. We have requested that each brewery bring at least one IPA and one other (any style) beer that showcases hops, so we’re hoping for a great variety!
– No outside beverages will be allowed.
– Non-alcoholic drinks and snacks will be available for purchase inside The Glass Jug
– You may enter and exit the beer garden as needed, as long as you still have your wristband. Otherwise, we cannot allow re-entry.
Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: Yes, as long as they stay on lease and you pick up after them. Remember that it is outside and there will be a lot of other people, so please keep your dog’s welfare in mind, also.
Q: Can I bring a lawn chair or umbrella?
A: Yes. We have seating for about 75 people, plus table umbrellas and a misting system, but we are expecting up to 300 attendees, so feel free to bring your own chair for hanging out and enjoying the music.
Q: Can I bring in outside food and drinks?
A: Outside food is fine, but we are not allowing outside drinks to avoid people bringing in outside alcohol. We have non-alcoholic beverages for sale at the bar and will have a water station set up during the festival. Cockadoodlemoo Truck will also be here for the entirety of the event serving some delicious food and non-alcoholic drinks!
Q: Can I purchase a ticket at The Jug?
A: We are encouraging everyone to pre-purchase tickets via Eventbrite in advance so we can plan efficiently. If there are tickets remaining the day of the event, we will be selling them on-site at the door, but the price will be $50.
Q: Do I have to purchase a Non-Alcohol/Music-Only ticket for my child?
A: Kids under 5 years old can come for free. Otherwise, please purchase the $15 music-only ticket. Also note that this is an outdoor beer festival, and we are not providing any child-focused entertainment, so plan accordingly.
Q: Can I buy beer at the bar and bring it outside to the festival?
A: Unfortunately not. The only alcohol allowed outside during the festival will be the samples from the 15 different breweries on site. You will have over 30 different beers to choose from outside. You can, however, go inside at any time and enjoy a beverage in the AC at the bar. You just can’t bring those drinks into the festival area.
